Manti is not only the seat of Sanpete County, it is rich with history and is said to have the “prettiest Main Street in the county”. With marvelous mountain views to the east and Ephraim City to the north, there is no reason not to call it home. It is rumored that every home was built to have a view of the Mormon Temple, but I’ll let you decide if that is true.
History
Manti was the the original settlement in central Utah, spurring the settlement of many of the surrounding communities. Brigham Young was asked to send pioneers to help teach the local Indians about farming. Isaac Morley suggested “Manti” as the city’s name because there is a city in the Book of Mormon with that name.
